Im in 10th grade ( sophomore) I don’t know what to do when I get old. First I was thinking of being an air hostess, now I want to be a chef and then dp hotel management, but I can’t decide.

When you get really old, be me. You mean “older,” I hope.
And your interests and skills will evolve during the rest of HS and, I hope, advanced education. Very few tenth graders have clear career plans; or if they do, the plans will surely change.
Two questions: What’s your favorite subject at school? Where do you get the best grades?
Yes, when I read the title, I thought you were talking about retirement age. Now I see you’re talking about your first job/career.
You don’t have to decide. Just take courses that seem interesting. Your career will fall into place.
I’ve been a flight attendant for 13 years now. You get to travel and layover is some wicked destinations. Schedules depend on your seniority, but you normally only work 2–3 days a week. That gives you the chance to work on a second career. I run my own company on my days off, and on the weekends I fly to places like Cuba and Europe.
Keep thinking about what you want to do. You will decide when the time gets closer. Think about what you like in terms of school subjects, what you would like to do when you are grown up. Do you want to travel? Do you like having security?
It’s hard to decide what you want to be for the rest of your life when you’re in 10th grade. Don’t be stressed out and think you have to choose your career before school’s out. Eventually you’ll figure out what you want to do.
I’m 53 and still haven’t decided what I want to do when I grow up.
Some people die when they get old. That’s what I’m going to do. lol
Tenth grade is kind of young to be making career decisions, but you seem to have an idea of the type of work you want to do, serving the public, possibly in areas related to food or travel. Gather some more information about these professions. What are the requirements? What are the salaries? If possible, speak to people doing these types of work. If you go into a restaurant when it is not busy, you may be able to speak to the chef. It is worth a shot. The worst that could happen is that they say no.
If you haven’t done so already talk with your guidance counselor about your ambitions and possible classes at school you can take that will expose you to the career options in those fields. Call local restaurants and hotels and see if they could accommodate a visit from you to talk with staff there to see what their jobs are like. I have regularly taken my scouts on visits to businesses for that very reason and many places are more than willing to show kids what real world jobs are like. Good luck.
What my career plans are now are definitely different from what they were in 10th grade. I was convinced that I wanted to be a School Psychologist, but all it took was one Psychology class for me to realize that it really wasn’t the field for me. My sister, on the other hand, was convinced that she wanted to do fashion merchandising, so she went to a school that really only excelled in that field. She’s since felt constricted by her choice and is looking at transferring to a school that will afford her more options.
Basically, take some different classes and don’t lock yourself into a certain field without options because you may get into it and decide that it really isn’t what you want to do in the long run. If you want to work with people, try taking some Psychology or Sociology classes. If you think you might want to do something with management or run your own business, try taking some business classes.
wow thank you everyone;D But I think its really gonna be hard for me to decide:(
@Thesexier: The point is you don’t have to decide now. See where your interests and talents lead you.
