I hate to be the bringer of demoralizing news, but that link isn’t a hot link. It’s a “pointer” link. The purpose of “pointer” or permalinks is to direct a user from one page to another, not to link to playable media. Another fact: eztracks isn’t a file hosting site. It is a retailer of music, roughly like an online version of iTunes or Napster. You won’t be able to use them as “host.”
Unless you have the song file on your hard drive and can upload it to a site like Boxstr, your’re stuck. :(
Oh crackers! Huge, huge edit:

Your chosen mp3 probably isn’t working because the blog behind it probably deleted it. And finally, the Hype Machine doesn’t let music be downloaded, so I assume it wouldn’t allow hotlinking of it either. The purpose of the site is to showcase mp3s and music blogs, not to allow the viral spread of songs.

It takes some tweaking, but if you go to the “read more” part of the Hype Machine it takes you to the blog in question. On that blog there will likely be a link to the song in question, where if you open it up it will open in a little player at the bottom. If you open it in a new tab, though, you will find the link to the file itself, ending in .mp3, which you can then post into tumblr.
That’s one of the easier ones, but some you have to go through the activity of your browser, etc.
For the record, the link is here.
