Do athletes in "World's strongest man competition" juice up?

Asked by windex (2932points) February 8th, 2010

I wasn’t able to find the rules or a section where it says they test for drugs. Is this allowed? Are they are natural? Are some at least natural?

An aerobics intructor told me that when she started working at a gym, she was told never to stick her hands in the garbage when cleaning the men’s locker room because of all the needles from steroids that would be there. And this is just in a regular gym!

you know, maybe its because these guys tend to look a little ’‘fat’’ and not exactly ripped like a body builder, but i dont think they do really. i think they are just naturally big guys who eat a lot of red meat and train a lot.

i could be wrong, but i really dont think many of them do use steroids.

Although it’s not really fair to use blanket statements – one would have to be a freak of nature to be able to maintain that amount of muscle mass. You just can’t keep that bulk over time without something extra (and it’s not the stuff you get at GNC!) Mariuz Puginowski is too old to have that much muscle mass without juice. And friends who knew Kevin Nee from a gym in Arizona mentioned that he definitely cycles.
