Scuba Diving and RC Helicopters. They take my total focus and attention.
Keeping the gremlins from getting into my head.
I pwn noobs on COD, while rocking out to Sabaton.
Stress? Gone.
Good discussion, friends, exercise – martial arts, sex, creativity, chess etc etc.
Why, because it changes my mode of thought/being – taking me back to the moment. And in the moment I enjoy myself. Consequently, stress levels drop.
My kids offer a limitless supply of fun & adventure.Release enough for this happy camper.
@Sarcasm I’d own you,in my pocket you’d be.
Running, playing guitar, and sex. Rinse, lather and repeat.
Exercise out of doors is a great way for me to release pent up energy as is KSA :)
I repress all my feelings into a tumour that’ll hopefully kill me before middle age.
Cross country skiing, blasting targets with whatever firearm takes my fancy at the moment, drinking a bit too much, chopping firewood, Fluthering. Otherwise, depression would be a full-time occupation.
Bikram Yoga, Argentine Tango, Sex.
@Simone_De_Beauvoir Tango is awesome. I wish that I had the aptitude to do it well.(and a partner, alas)
walking, warm candle lit bath, sleep…its a great temporary escape
Walking and talking with my friend, reading, Fluthering. Oh – and cleaning the bathroom, oddly enough.
@janbb I’m obsessive about bathrooms, too.
Guitar, but yea, who didn’t see that coming? lol I guess alternatives would be, my perfect pushups, walks on the beach and I also like intellectual conver….. Ahem, I mean, I don’t get stressed that often, but it’s usually pretty easy for me to shrug off and do something else.
Dance for sure… fluther for sure. Talking, when I feel like I can. Writing, sometimes sometimes it makes it worse! or going on walks/hikes/runs, maybe with my dog, reading unless I’m in a time-crunch. Crocheting something, even something completely useless. Sometimes tidying my room or the kitchen… killing nervous energy. Baking something. Even sipping hot chocolate/tea… mmmm : )
@Simone_De_Beauvoir You don’t mind a partner whose instructor said “dances like a storm trooper”?
Hey maybe that’s my problem. I have no release valve!
The fact that she does the Argentine Tango, I find that quite sexy. :)
My 1982 Blue Stratocaster with ebony fingerboard and EMG pickups…plugged into a digital effects rack into a Fender Studio amp accompanied by my son on bass and other son on drums is my drug of choice. Problems….what problems??
@Cruiser double locking tremolo? What kind of EMGs? You might have a Strat that I might consider playing and I religiously hate Fenders.
@Axemusica Not sure… I traded an ES 125 ( I wish I still had) I got for $20.00 at a garage sale for it and they were on board already. I know there are better axes out there but I have had this baby for so long it has “matured” into a wonderfully playable and sounding beaut! Standard issue Trem…
@Cruiser what color are the letters on the pickups?
Take a long, hot shower.
Take my dog for a walk
Cook a meal full of chopped vegetables.
Work on my needlepoint
Play with my grandsons.
Depends on the kind of stress, sex always works well, exercise can help a little, self harm works really well if the stress is too bad.
@Axemusica Strange….I didn’t know right off so I went and looked and the are gold. BTW I can’t bring myself to own anything but Fender style guitars…it’s all about the neck and tone for me! I also have a tele knock off that just screams!
@Cruiser are you sure it’s gold and not bronze? There’s a couple different colors. There’s silver (standard 81 or possibly a 60A. You’d be able to tell since an 81 is really bright in comparison to a 60), Gold (standard 85), Bronze (81TW or 89/R). Both are gold though? usually they’re paired 85/81 (neck/bridge) and that’s how I set up my ESP. If you like the tele/fender style playing I might suggest getting the 89R for your bridge. It’s a coil tap that allows you to switch between humbucker and single coil. The humbucker part sounds like the 85, so the only real different would be when you switch to the single for that classic single coil sound.
@Axemusica Sorry I would not be that sure to tell the difference…it looks gold and all 3 are single coil white with “gold” lettering?? I’ll send you a link sometime!
