Why does Fluther DO this?

Sometimes, when I rate a question or answer, the screen jumps to the beginning of the thread and displays a message (e.g. “We’re glad you find this question so great.”). It doesn’t do this all the time, though, and I can’t predict when it will and when it won’t. What makes Fluther do this?

I have never seen this, not ever, and I’ve given bushels of GA’s and GQ’s. Can you correlate this behavior to anything you do?
Nope! I’ll be fluthering away, doing the same things I always do, and only sometimes will I get the messages.
I had that problem- I changed the settings in Firefox to allow Fluther to do whatever it pleases.
That happens to me every now and then too. It usually resolves itself without my having to do anything to my browser. It’s strange. Maybe Dr. J just likes to mess with us.
It happened to me constantly when I was leeching wifi from a neighbor. It was a very slow connection. I assumed all of the javascript never loaded.
edit :: I turned off javascript and it did this
It has to do with Javascript. If you click super-early or if the page is taking a while to load or Javascript is off it will actually reload the page to submit your marking of the question/answer as great. There’s probably some things we can do to speed up the Javascript so you can click it earlier.
How fast is your Internet connection (aka are you on dialup or painfully slow wifi)?
It does that to me every so often… I never really noticed until you brought it up in this question. I’ll pay more attention to when it happens…
@johnpowell haha I like how you have a tab open that says, “America, fuck yea!” funny :)
No, it never happened to me.
One of those questions that really needs to be answered.
@timtrueman I connect to the internet via cable modem, which usually is pretty fast. No more dial-up for me, thank goodness. I do, however, often click very early in the loading process.
It’s not really that bothersome, though. I was just curious.
