Why should I hate Gulliver's Travels?

Asked by skwerl88 (532points) March 3rd, 2008

I have a paper due tomorrow (I think) and I need something to rant about. I haven’t read the book yet either.

Ask your teacher for extra time in the morning. And right now you should turn off your computer and start reading the book.

Yes and no. Older lititure is a bit difficult to hold peoples attention, but the actual story is really interesting. Push through the old language!

You should hate it because I hate it, and I only hate it because you hate it. Case solved.

I say don’t hate it. Its actually a really good book. Just get away from distractions and actually read the thing.

Don’t hate it! I was supposed to read it in high school but never did. About 5 years ago I was essentially stranded alone in a rainforest in the middle of nowhere, and Gulliver’s Travels was one of the only books I had to keep me company. It turns out I loved it. Sometimes when a teacher or professor makes you read something, you end up not liking it as much than if you had just read it upon your own volition.

I guess the reason why you should hate it is because you have a paper due, and your grad probably won’t be so good, since you haven’t read it!!
