What does post 1400 mean? before or after 1400?

Post means after.

And pre-1400 means “before.”

And circa 1400 means around 1400.

Ante- also means before antebellum: Before the war

However, if you are dealing with BC, realize that Post-1400 means >after< 1400, so the 1300’s BC.

@grumpyfish and by extension Pre-1400 BCE means 1500 or more BCE.
