I don’t believe in God and I don’t think that it is a good book. And, yes I have read it along with the Qur’an.
there are actually 66 books in the Bible, and from my perspective of truth, i believe it is the Word of G-d.
That’s the fallacy of a “false dilemma” or “false choice.”
its an extended metaphor written by people. Its not so much a great book so much as an overly popular choice of delusion.
The moral component is acceptable but things get wackadoo when people take it literally.
even if you believe the original text is the word of “god” it’s been translated and made to fit the needs of those in power(king james version, etc.)
its just an ancient book of fables which people have taken literally to govern their lives.
I believe that it truly depends on how you read it. Some might call it a historical text others call a poem. I for one believe that it is what I need in order to live in communion with whom it is about.
I believe it is the story of man’s relationship with “God” as passed down through the ages, first by word of mouth, then written. I believe it is inspired by God and not the literal “word” of God as some would like to insist.
