Touch of Grey (Grateful Dead), are these lyrics right?

Asked by Jude (32204points) February 18th, 2010

“It’s a lesson to me,
The Deltas and the East and the freaks.
The abc’s—we all think of, and try to keep a little love.”

The line that’s in bold, when I looked up the lyrics on the web, almost every site has something different for that one line. What is it?

It’s a lesson to me
The deltas and the east and the freeze
The ABC’s we all think of
Try to give a little love.

After just listening to the song, I have to concur with the above site.

The natural extension of this question is “What does that mean?”.

You’ll have to ask Jerry.

I JUST ( last night ) cranked up Ripple as I was sitting in my hot tub!

THAT SONG! One of the all time most amazingly beautiful songs ever written no doubt! :-)

I’ll never forget my private eulogy to Jerry the day he died back in ‘95.

Drank copius amounts of wine and played every dead song I owned ( some multiple times, lol ) from about 5 p.m. till after 2 a.m. A one woman wake to the late, great Jerry Garcia!

I’ll never forget driving by Buckeye Lake in Ohio one summer in like ‘92…I was with my fiance and we were driving to Maryland to get married. There was this huge throng of cars pulling onto the Lake off-ramp. I asked Susie what she thought it was and she was sure it was a Dead concert. So we decided to go there first…and that was the last Dead Concert I would see with Jerry!
