This from the article:
“On Thursday, Prime Minister Gordon Brown said the government had “made all the preparations that are necessary to make sure the Falkland islanders are properly protected.”
In the U.S., we have a saying: “Sure you can trust the government, just ask an Indian.”
Sure. Rape their land for resources and then nuke ‘em if they can’t take a joke.
Are you seriously speaking of using nuclear weapons in response to posturing about permits and licensing? If so, you are being extremely foolish.
I was just going to say, get ready for the negatives. Pleased I’m logging off in a short while!
@Dracool Hahahaha, as a descendant of the Native Americans I appreciate the irony :)
We should agree to an exclusion zone and then sink their flagship when it is legally outside of the agreed zone. It worked last time as i recall and then inform the ignorant, tango loving, greasy upstarts, that all’s fair in love and war.
@UScitizen No, in all honesty I’m not. However, I’d have nothing against us sending them there purely to threaten.
oh my, how The Sun is salivating at the prospect of round II. i think it’s time to Tango.
@Dibley I rather thought I’d be nailed to a cross too… so far so good though. If I dont catch ya, have a good weekend :)
@mammal Hahahaha, I haven’t seen tdys Sun but I can imagine.
@UScitizen and what’s wrong with a little macho posturing eh? it’s the only thing Latino’s understand.
@mammal ‘ignorant, tango loving, greasy upstarts”? I take personal offense. We are neither ignorant nor greasy. Some of us may enjoy a good tango, but that is neither here nor there. And those of us who live in the islands don’t consider ourselves upstarts. What we want is self-determination, as I imagine you enjoy
@stump “Some of us may enjoy a good tango…” a master stroke of genius & comedy timing!
What incredible indoctrination I detect in this question! Just the fact that you could so easily come up with a plan that includes fossil fuels and war…
Yes that made me laugh to.
@stump when will you people ever learn… Britannia rules the waves
@Drgrafenbergmd Hmmmm, yeh, I wonder what countries actions over recent years gave me that idea…....?
@mammal You can either be a good example or a horrible warning. You are the latter.
@Dibley Great minds my friend… great minds :)
@mammal You are living in the past, my friend.
Do I think we should go to war for oil?
Why not, one more country won’t make that much difference. Its never stopped us before!
Argentina should fill the waters with mines.
@mammal I have to be honest. I am not from the Falklands. I am from New York. But I am with the downtrodden.
@TheJoker Thanks.
God save the Quolonialism?
@stump Hey, credit where its due…. & even more so now I know you’re abit of a wind-up merchant :)
@TheJoker I don’t know what a wind-up merchant is, but thanks.
I suppose if I lived in the ‘UNITED KINGDOM’ and was a citizen I’d probably follow the corporate whores into nuclear war, but sein-as-tho I’m a human being living in England they can shove their war right up their sphincters!
@Drgrafenbergmd If you actually take a moment, you’ll see all the question asked was should the fleet be sent, nothing about nuking anyone. Secondly, it was a question, not a statement of my beliefs. & lastly, I’m actually playing devils advocate here. Whilst I may be English I actually identify far more with continental Europe, nationalism & the fervour it produces sickens me to the core.
@stump Heh, just a bit of English colloquialism, simply means you take the piss well!
@Drgrafenbergmd Thanks for the link, not something I recall being reported over here. Comes as no real suprise though, this current war seems to be being exercised with little to no consideration for the rule of law.
@Dracool oops, yes, viva that too, lol, no hablo espanol
I say any opportunity to push the button is a good opportunity.
@ChazMaz should we include Buenos Aires, it is rather chic and all?
GB should not do anything other than what it intends to do, oil-wise. If the Argentinians have a problem with it, then it’s up to them whether or not to do something. I’m sure any nuclear action in the eastern hemisphere would cause a powerful, negative reaction by the USA.
Wasn’t this war fought once already to GB’s great shame? How many times do we have to see the same old shit?
@janbb I thought it was Argentina who withdrew…
I may be wrong, it has happened. I just thought at the time that the whole war was so unnecessary. Please don’t confuse me with the facts.:-)
I’d aim my crosshairs straight at Mara“fuckin“donna’s greasy head.The cheating little shit.The Falklands?Don’t go there.
@ucme Then he’d be the (dead) player of the century.
Just more proof that the Brits are no better than us Americans.
On a separate note, I never knew that there was a British stereotype of South Americans being greasy. I’ve only heard of Italians referred to as greasy. And I mean no offense, I’m just noticing. Validation?
@jfos In my case only the cheating little shit is referred to as greasy. Or anything else that may spring to mind.In common with most English football fans, he is despised.Indeed two of his compatriots were much loved characters in our country.Osvaldo Ardiles & Ricky Villa played for Spurs,a London club,in the Eighties.So once again to clarify,he & he alone is reserved for “special“attention.
What do you call cheating Brits?
@ucme Well I also noticed that @mammal used “greasy” as well. I’m not sure if (she?) is also from England.
By their names then and nothing derogatory. Sounds par.
@Jfos I’m singing from a different song sheet than @mammal as is evident in my previous answer.
@ucme The argument wasn’t what I was focusing on. It was British-ness and “greasy” as a stereotype.
Do we posses WMD????
Oh no!!
@Dracool Ah okay then, fucking John “the slag” Terry.Feel better now.Sounds par for what? I’m remarking on a famous incident involving this guy & as i’ve already explained & I can only speak for myself here,the term greasy has no bearing whatsoever on his nationality.Reading anything else into it is your decision.Geez have these guys never been to a football match it happens all the time all over the world.
Sounds par for a white guy who can’t understand that ethnic and racial slurs (regardless of when and where it happens) are ignorant.
@Dracool Yawn, wrong demographic.It is you who is showing your ignorance & readiness to pontificate where there is no need.Moving on, nothing to see here.
No; we should just pump the oil out of the territorial waters, make every Falkland Islander a millionaire then keep the rest as our fee for keeping them British!
@Dracool – I call cheating Brits Aussies!
