For those of you who know me a little you have probably heard that I am about to do a gastric bypass surgery at some point. Well, that some point is almost here. March 10 to be exact. I am nervous, a bit scared but also very excited. This has been a four year long process that is coming to an end.
I still have a lot of preparation to do: I need to lose a couple of more kilos weight, I need to adopt a new lifestyle and I need to start think about what lies ahead in a positive way. Depending on mood that’s not easy to do. I need help, motivation and some cheering.
Would you help me with that? Please?
And also, I wish to thank the entire Fluther community for everything. You’ve been of great help, aid and comfort. Thank you!

I am awfully excited for you! Just keep focused on your new life, write down things you can’t do now and the things you will be able to do in future. Perhaps mark down some diary dates of what you will be doing on that day for e.g. “Feb 21st go for a swim at the beach”. Surround yourself with people who know your issues both now and then.
I can think of lot’s of motivational things to stay, but what keeps sticking in my brain is “No Pain No glory”.
Alternately:
“I’m easing into my natural life.”
Congratulations. This is inspiring. Plus you always say good things to the rest of us.
God bless!
My mom had this one that worked miracles for me…
“Get off your ass and get moving or I will send my boot up it and out your pie hole”

Make use of the Happiness Project Toolbox to help you work towards your goals and stay on track. Make this your happiness project. It’s not so much “I need” as it is “I want.” That change in focus from making it a chore to making it what you really want can help with the attainment of the goal. Focus on the idea that you are in control of your life, and are taking control.
If you would only recognize that life is hard, things would be so much easier for you.

I am no lazier now than I was forty years ago, but that is because I reached the limit forty years ago. You can’t go beyond possibility.

@Cruiser My dad used to say “Get busy, or I’ll stick my foot up your ass!”
@Cruiser
Wow. That explains a lot of your tough-guy stuff, huh?
@susanc I am really a cream puff!! lol!

@filmfann I really like that one. That’s such a that kind of dad thing for that kind dad to say. :) Like Red, on the 70s Show.
Great minds discuss ideas; Average minds discuss events; Small minds discuss people.—Eleanor Roosevelt
@lillycoyote I have been told the Dad in that show used to say that as well. I never watched it. That guy tried to kill Robocop.
