What song(s) would you recommend waking up to?
I change my wake up song every so often (usually like twice a year, because I hate finding a new one) so that I don’t get so used to hearing it that I sleep through it.
For a good long while it rang “Wonderful Day” by O.A.R which was a fantastic wake up song (though a bit jarring), and now it is ringing “No Sunlight” by Death Cab For Cutie. While I love this song, i’m not sure I should START the day off with lyrics condemning the sunlight. :) So, any good song ideas?

Ooooh do I!
If you’re looking for a feel good song, check out “Shine on” by Eric Bibb. That will put a smile on your face for sure. :-)
Hard Sun by Eddie Vedder. The tempo is great for waking up, and it sets the morning off to a good start. :)
Really good song connect the dots by the spill canvas,
it all depends on what you like too. If you’re like me and like waking up to something not so loud then that song is really good, or any jazz song
@TheBot I like it, it is definitely high on the list of potential wake up songs :)
@adreamofautumn What other songs are on your list btw? I might as well get some inspiration from this discussion myself ^^
@TheBot I’m considering “Sunny Hours” by Long Beach Dub All Stars, i’m also considering going back to “Wonderful Day”. I’m compiling a list of other suggestions. :)
@Jennifries yah, it would sure as hell get me awake, but it would likely end with my phone in pieces as well ;)
Ooooh or the original Feelin’ Good, by Gilbert Price.
Amazing. Plus it builds up nicely, not too hard an impact in the morning. I can certainly see myself waking up to that song. With a smell of coffee (which I never drink, just like the smell ^^), bread and jam, on a Sunday morning. Happy thoughts! :)
If you’re looking for a more upbeat song, I know I used “All I Wanna Do” by Sheryl Crow for a while. It has a nice 90’s Californian feel. Like all alarm clock songs though, you get tired of it after some time.
LBDAS is also a good idea…
This one was the first that came to mind, but I’m sure it’d be obnoxious first thing in the morning.
(WHAM! – Wake Me Up Before You Go Go)
@shadling21 I’m pretty sure i’d wake up to the mental image of that video every morning, and I love george as much as the next lady, but that is not the perfect start to my day :) haha.
Brighter Than Sunshine, by Aqualung.
Modern Girl, by Sleater-Keeney.
Don’t Worry, Be Happy, by Bobby McFerren.
Everything is Alright, by Motion City Soundtrack.
Norah Jones – Sunrise
(I suggest it for spring/summer mornings)
This one. Although it’s not in English, it’s a song about waking up to a new day, like freshly fallen rain in the mountains. The song is entitled “East Mountain Rain, West Mountain Sunshine”, sung by Teresa Teng.

Never Gonna Give You Up (shudders)
Dire Straits – Walk of Life
I can’t help but move my feetsies when I hear this!
Taxman… welcome to the USA.
I used “Right Here, Right Now” by Fatboy Slim for a long time. It starts quietly, which makes waking up easier. Plus it’s kinda motivational too.
A million GAs to @qashqai for the Norah Jones answer. That’s my favorite song to wake up to. :)
Also, “Crack the Shutters” by Snow Patrol is a good one and goes along with the whole morning theme.
‘Dials’ by the Cocteau Twins.
It’s an instrumental that sounds like morning.
“Shape Up” by Total Babe. It has this lovely whistling intro that sounds like birds singing outside the window.
@TheBot “Shine On” is a good one. I was excited to hear it playing on House the other night.
@lonelydragon I know, right? It’s such a great “feel good” song! :)
What a wonderful world – Louis Armstrong.
Walking on sunshine.
