Ricoh GelSprinter GX3000 fancy printer....won't print in black. Help!

My school-provided printer is big and fancy but currently won’t print in black. I’ve replaced the ink cartridge but to no avail. I checked the tubes inside and they’re attached. What could it be? The IT guy said he doesn’t know either.

Did you remove the tape or covering over the cartridge before you installed it? Sometimes there is a strip you have to pull out or a sticker over the drum roller. Also is the cartridge seated properly?

That’s absolutely something I’d do, but no…all strips are off and in there correctly.
