Not enough info. What’s the mood, etc.?
does it have to be classical?
check out the bands The Album Leaf, God Is An Astronaut, Unwed Sailor, &/or Sigur Ros
great background music for many things (plus just plain great music)
it doesn’t really matter.. there’s a fight scene & an chase scene but more than anything I just want something to fill the horrible silence while I’m screening it. It doesn’t need to be silent but I don’t want any words.
those are all ambient bands ^^
Rachmaninoff for violent intensity.
Chopin waltzes for gently flowing irony (similar in feeling to the use of “Over the Rainbow” in the movie “Face/Off”).
God is an Astronaut – Radau = PERFECT!!! I love everything about fluther, thank you!
go to iTunes and browse you should find lots of good choices.

There are tons of innovative, cool classical pieces out there. It depends on the mood.
Here are just a few examples:
Quiet and peaceful:
Brahms intermezzos
Chopin berceuse
Chopin etude in Ab major “Aeolian harp”
Swan lake theme by Tchaikovsky (B minor)
Fiery:
Brahms ballade in G minor
Chopin sonata in B minor 3rd movt.
Chopin etude in A minor “Winterwind and etude in C minor “Revolutionary”
Beginning of Grieg Piano concerto in A minor
Others:
B. Smetana’s Moldau from Ma Vlast: starts off like a small trickle, ends up with a huge current like a river, changes as it goes along
Chopin scherzos: constantly changing, interesting piano pieces
Here’s just a quick list I could think up on the spot, there are so many other pieces out there. However, this hopefully helps at least a little.
If you posted a link to the film, it would help us out a lot.
