What video editing software is capable of turning videos 90º in the direction the editor wishes it?
When I uploaded the videos from my Softbank 920p cameraphone that I got from Japan, I discovered a defect in the video-recording feature – holding the phone upright caused the footage to tilt 90º.
Now, what video editing software can correct this tilt problem and make the video show in the right orientation?

Just about any I would think.
Windows Movie Maker can. See this link
It’s free but I’m not sure if it will work on OSX if you have a Mac, but I’m pretty sure Macs have a free video editor that should accomplish this.
@se_ven Don’t worry, I’m on Windows 7. And thanks a lot for providing a quick & free solution! I’ll get working on them sometime.
Then you should be all set. I had to do something similar with a portrait oriented video I shot awhile back.
The fault would appear to be with the operator not reading the manual. It is supposed to film in widescreen mode. One of my daughters got one as a gift when she bought a new Panasonic TV.
That is a very weird simple problem to have. Good question. Thanks for bringing it up!

Manyuwaru ha, Nihongo dake ni imasu. Boku no Nihongo no yoru ha totemo heta desu.
(Manual was only…) You try figuring out the rest.
Now, did your daughter order it from Japan? Or was that complementary gift meant for an American market?
@EgaoNoGenki Or was that complementary gift meant for an American market?
As we don’t live America (but actually much closer to Japan) that would not be likely. It was obtained by redemption certificate through Panasonic (Asia Pacific). The redemption certificate was provided with the purchase of a VIERA Plasma television last year. Why do you ask? It is a useful little gadget, but it does take a wide angle – horizontal 16:9 854×480 pixel – video image. It states so quite plainly on the link that you provided with your question. Its only real weakness is the lack of 3G. (And the fact that it is bright pink – you couldn’t give it away to a guy.)
