I would think most of the Scandinavian countries are the most just and fair societies to live in if that’s what you are asking.

I think New Zealand has a good reputation for its justice system.

If you are from the United States, you will probably have the easiest fit in the judicial systems of Canada or New Zealand, both of which are similar to the USA in theory but in practice are more just and less corrupt.

you know, @windex did specifically ask for no smartass answers.

Justice is a relative term. Unless you define your version of it, there’s no way to tell you.

One person’s idea of justice will differ from another persons perspective. Only you, yourself, can decide on this question, depending on what you are looking for.

New Zealand or Canada. Both of those spots rule.

What kind of justice…social, national, global, distributive, procedural, retributive, restorative, poetic, moral, criminal?

It depends on what you mean by “justice.” Do you mean a fair judicial system? If that’s so, I’d say most western countries will fulfill it. If you mean “social justice,” as in “helping the disadvantaged,” then go for the western European countries. I hate to say it, but justice is a very vague term. Can you at least define what kind of justice you’re talking about?

Interesting question. They have ways to quantify and rank a country’s medical industry. I wonder if there’s any way to do that concerning justice.

I heard that Singapore has a very low crime rate
I even heard that you can safely let your door open(I don’t really believe this but this is what I heard?

The most justice occurs in Antarctica. But then again, there’s not much to do there except research, boardgames, and picture-taking.

As for regular civilization, you’d be hard pressed to find justice in pure form.
The nation that comes the closest is the Netherlands. Yes, even there, people can become victims of injustice. But not nearly as much as they do in places like America and England.

You could try Canada. All’s pretty fair here. As long as you’re not attempting to escape the law from wherever you are, anyway.

Wherever you go, don’t go to Germany looking for justice…unless you are a skinhead.

Some people have an odd sense of justice so we need to know what you think justice is if anyone is going to give you an accurate answer.

Why are you interested in such a macroscopic land area, as a whole country? Surely, there are certain countries that are nearly anarchic that have isolated areas of utopic harmony. Justice is also a very broad concept. If you like a government that really takes serious steps to curtail infractions, then Singapore with its cainings seems the place for you. Like I said however, its more of a city-state surrounded by some really sketchy outlying areas. Maybe you should join a hippie commune.

*is back
In the US where I’m currently living (15+yrs) every state is pretty much different, the people, the laws…a lot of things. I’m not sure if you’re in the US but it’s unnecessarily complicated. Federal laws overwrite state laws (you would think, should?), but sometimes the state does whatever it wants, and no ones cares… and there is a state that is voting against the healthcare option since they already have it and don’t care if other states do or don’t, they don’t want to pay (it’s weird)

I actually asked not because of the laws, I think I have complained about this before. I live in southern california and it’s the worst place for someone like me to be. If I wore a white t-shirt and jeans for the rest of my life, I would be happy, I do not care about buying the latest (insert whatever is in/hip/cool @ the moment..car, clothing, bla bla)
Basically the whole “materialistic bast***” complaint

Selfishness just turns me off, and I can’t believe the lengths people go to, to effect the way other people think about them. And how it’s SOOO important to them.
I asked because apparently (even though I LOVE this country and the FREEDOM)... if you screw people and make more money then you’re considered successful, and all that matters is money and power.

sry if this doesn’t make any sense, I’m working and typing @ the same time, so sorry for the poorly constructed sentences and me failing…. :(

@windex you should stay out of Washington state, California, Florida, and new york – except the rural areas.

Your question asked about justice. I am better equipped to discuss injustice, and downright stupidity.

You might like to visit the socialist republic of Minnesota – where winters are nasty and everyone is Minnesota nice. (watch Fargo). They did vote in jesse ventura while I lived there and the wailing from the republicans was almost as loud as from the democrats. I loved it.

You definitely are not a “coastie” – in rural areas, studies have shown that the rural types place other attributes higher than appearance in judging people. I don’t know if you’d enjoy farmville.

Your general problem you see is that you are intelligent (most likely), and you have ethics. You should give up one of these, so that you might fit in better.

Many physicians have basically had it lately with what’s been going on, and have mentioned going to new zealand. I believe they even have skiing.
