Can anyone tell me about their experience with ffffound?

Asked by TitsMcGhee (8286points) March 2nd, 2010

I’m a photography student, and image sharing is very important to me. Do you find that ffffound is a good medium for image sharing? Do you think that more accessible networks like flickr, facebook, and tumblr are better because of the more open nature (ie not requiring an invitation)?

On a side note: I’ve been searching for an invitation to ffffound, and I was thinking that the internet-savvy cast of characters on fluther may have one laying around that they’d be willing to use on a fellow jelly. Anyone have one or know someone who does?

I don’t have one [an invitation], so I can’t really compare ffffound to anything else… I have been looking for an invite for a really really long time. No luck. :(

I don’t know anything about ffffound, but I will say I got a lot of exposure on Flickr when I could afford the Pro account (and all my photos were displayed). I’ve now been published twice because of it, and actually came this close to selling one of my photos to Microsoft for use in their online student portal (they ended up not using the photo). Anyway, these people sought me out, I didn’t have to do anything.

The only downside is the possibility of people stealing your photos for use on other sites and whatnot, though there may be a way to prevent folks from downloading your photos.

I also haven’t heard about ffffound… Maybe you can share this idea with us.
