When did Ghandi say this?

Asked by lostinyoureyes (1121points) March 3rd, 2010

“Whatever you do in life will be insignificant, but it’s very important that you do it.”
– Ghandi

I can’t find a proper citation for this quote. Does anyone know when/where/how (in a book, speech, etc.) he said it?

The quote you have presented is the advertisement for the movie Remember Me, but not necessarily an accurate quote.

@YARNLADY – I know it is in that movie, but it has been quoted several times before.

I don’t know, but it’s great for bringing one into the moment :)

Wikiquote has this info on the quote:

No contemporaneous citations. Widespread attribution to Gandhi begins in post-1990 inspirational books

@utzon—Thanks but I actually saw that already. I’m looking for more specific information… otherwise I feel like I can just make up anything and say that Ghandi said it.
