How do I improve my questions on Fluther?
Everytime I ask a question, I always get the editing thing….why is that?

Have you tried reading the guidelines?
This is from the Guidelines:
What makes a good question (or: how do I make sure it doesn’t get moderated?)
Well-written, genuine questions provoke the best and most thoughtful answers. Obviously, make sure you spell-check, try to use proper capitalization and grammar, and select appropriate topics.
•If your question is a legitimate query for a solution, like “Why is my bike tire always going flat?”, or “How long should it take for my xbox to return back from service?”, or “Which is a better name for my new business?”, it will most likely stay.
•If your question is more open-ended, like “Is there any other cookie as good as a chocolate chip cookie?”, it may be moderated. In general, if your question inspires thoughtful discussion, and/or is particularly creative, and shows effort (so make sure you add details and give examples!), it probably won’t get moderated.
•If your question is an attempt to connect with people (as opposed to an attempt to figure something out), like “Where is everyone from?” or “How old is everyone?” or “Are the Jonas Brothers lame?”, or it’s a yes-or-no, this-or-that question, it will probably be moderated — those questions are better suited for the chatroom.
We also reserve the right to remove borderline questions that won’t clearly provoke useful or thoughtful discussion depending on the overall quality and types of questions of the day.
Try watching for that red line under your words which indicstes a misspelking!
I have read the guildlines but still I always have to go editing :(
Okay, I stand corrected. Have you tried following the guidelines?
I just want to toss out that she is living in Iceland and English is a second language. I talked to her in chat and she is very nice.
@johnpowell I presume that everyone here is nice until proven otherwise. But it’s good to see a confirmation once in awhile, too.
Would it be helpful if people could self-identify as ESL when posting questions so that we grammar and spelling mavens don’t jump all over them?
Do you not know how to take advice? What’s up with this? If you didn’t listen the first time, why should anybody waste their time telling you a second?
It’s all about the details. If you’re asking what is essentially a poll question like (actual example, coming up) “Pads or tampons?” you need to give us more information or supporting questions in the details section. Something like “How do you choose which one to use? What are the advantages and disadvantages of each? Is one better than the other for health reasons?” would have done the trick. What we’re trying to avoid are questions that can be answered with just a word (“Pads!”) or short sentence (“I like tampons!”), unless it’s a factual question that would normally be answered that way.
@Jeruba Hahahaha! I’m just going to go home and sniff the dogs butt! I’d ask how I did that but then I’d be in danger of repeating that mistake. Thank you. (Hangs head in shame)
