Predictions for oscar glory. We can look back when it’s over & choose our own overall winner based on correct hits. You may “vote” on the following.
Best picture
Best actor in a leading role
Best director
Best actress in a leading role
Anyone correctly predicting all four may recieve a small prize in the form of kudos.

Here are my predictions for Oscar winners, not necessarily my personal choices:
Best picture: The Hurt Locker
Best actor in a leading role: Jeff Bridges, Crazy Heart
Best director: James Cameron, Avatar
Best actress in a leading role: Sandra Bullock, The Blind Side
Here are my predictions:
Best Picture The Hurt Locker
Best Actor Jeff Bridges
Best Director Kathryn Bigelow
Best Actress Sandra Bullock
I’ll bite:
Best Picture: The Hurt Locker
Best Director: James Cameron
Best Actor: Jeff Bridges
Best Actress: Helen Mirren in The Last Station
I have not heard of most of the movies named here
(Although I suspect it will really be Sandra Bullock, I just think Helen Mirren deserves it much more.)
The highlight for me will be watching Christoph Waltz off with the supporting actor bling.Brilliant performance well deserved.“Bingo”!!
I predict that I will fall asleep within the first half hour…;)
…& miss the following 16hrs!!!
I predict:
Picture: Avatar
Director: James Cameron
Actor: Jeff Bridges
Actress: Sandra Bullock
.
.
I want:
Picture: District 9
Director: Kathryn Bigelow (or, really, anyone but douchebag Cameron)
Actor: Colin Firth
Actress: Gabourey Sidibe
.
.
Also, I would very much like Coraline or The Secret of Kells to win Best Animated Feature, but Up (which I didn’t really care for) is my prediction. :(
I think that the producer might have blown the Hurt Locker’s chance.
Best Picture: Avatar
Director: Kathryn Bigelow
Actress: Sandra Bullock
Actor: Jeff Bridges
….and the Supporting Actor award goes to:
Christoph Waltz, Inglourious Basterds
^ the only award I’ll pay attention to
Best Picture The Hurt Locker
Best Actor Jeff Bridges
Best Director Quenton Tarantino
Best Actress Sandra Bullock
I actually think Kathryn Bigelow will win Director, but I didn’t want to be too repetitive.
Yeah there seems to be quite a consensus of opinion. We shall see.
First my nose, then my ass. With a scratch in between.
Lots of snack food and big beer.
I’m going to answer this question in two parts, my picks vs. who I think will actually win.
my picks:
Best picture: Avatar
Best actor in a leading role: Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart
Best director: Kathryn Bigelow for The Hurt Locker
Best actress in a leading role: Gabourey Sidibe for Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire
who I think will take it:
Best picture: Avatar
Best actor in a leading role: Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart
Best director: James Cameron for Avatar
Best actress in a leading role: Sandra Bullock for The Blind Side
@MacBean ~ I completely agree with you on Coraline.
@mcbealer @MacBean I agree about Coraline too; it was wonderful Haven’t seen The Secret of Kells yet but I’m dying to. I do think Up will porbably win and I wasn’t crazy about it either.
it’s over for me.
Sandra Bullock won.
@mcbealer I have to admit, she just gave a beautiful speech.
WOOHOO! The Hurt Locker won best picture! My faith in humanity is – partially – restored.
@janbb ~ did you see the way ackward body language between Bigelow and Mark Boal? He very obviously wanted to include her in the moment when accepting the Oscar for Best Motion Picture, and grabbed her arm and kept tugging her until she finally moved in closer to the mic. Very funny.
The award for achievment in accuracy goes to…...drum roll…tense pause,@marinelife
