Walking/Fitness Competition - how to track teams progress?

I’m in HR and developing an employee team walking competition: “Walk to Madrid!” The goal is to walk the distance between our campus in Chicago and our Madrid campus.

Is there a way to show different teams’ mileage on a map – on a straight line between Chicago and Madrid? I can’t get google maps to let me walk across the ocean.

By Madrid, do you mean Spain? Google maps won’t let you walk across the ocean because you’d very probably die trying to do that…

You’re probably going to have to do it by hand with the distance legend, unless you know someonw who can design a program for you.
We did this at work but there were no graphics, just totals.
