Is there a square foot requirement for pets?
I have noticed that a lot of people have pets, dogs specifically, in apartments here in CO. When I lived in San Diego that was rare unless it was a tiny breed. What has caught my attention are the sizes of some of the dogs that my neighbors have. I’ve seen a pair of medium sized dogs with one neighbor and really big Dalmatian mix with another. My wife thinks it’s inhumane to have such a big dog in a small apartment. I am inclined to agree, the square footage at our complex ranges from 672 -> 862 -> 944. Is there a law that requires certain amount of space per weight of the dog(s)?

I don’t think there is, but I do think it’s okay to have big dogs in small places as long as their getting the proper exercise every day. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case. :(
None of my pets ever had square feet.
Good luck finding an animal with such an impediment.
Size doesn’t matter- it’s outside time that matters or you will come home to a _trashed house!
for cats the whole place is there’s , your goal is to pay the bills, pet them, feed them and make sure the bed has enough room for both of you!
Dog sizes allowed by housing complexes are dictated by the complex’s policy and enforced by the management.
Actually some larger dogs do not always require as much space as you would imagine being that their metabolism is quite slow and they were bred to stay in one place and guard. Some smaller dogs are just insane with energy. But as what has been mentioned, all dogs need appropriate daily exercise.
@SeventhSense That makes sense, my wife’s brothers have an older Golden Retriever and he’s not very active at all.
@davidbetterman You win. I couldn’t find any animals with square feet/paws. :-(
House pet rules are generally made locally, city or county, and of course, rental properties are according to the terms of the agreement with the owner.
Colorado has very strict health and safety rules for breeders and sellers.
