@judochop thanks for the link. I’ll be heading there in May with my girl. I’m thinking that that’ll be a good time to get my tattoo (a birthday present to myself).
@jjmah
and to the OP You like my tattoo and the artist is here in Brooklyn. I can give you his number if you’d like and you can set something up for when you’re here. He has the cutest baby boy too who once tried to eat Ark. It was awesome. And his girlfriend, omg, uber hot and you will fall in love with her.
Village Rock Tattoo, on 6th Ave & W 3rd St. is a very popular place. The place is buzzing at all hours of the day. There have been many nights out in the Village I have stayed late and place I see the shop with a good number of clients getting ‘too’d
Just be careful that you just don’t walk in somewhere to get a tattoo, walk in shops are generally flash shops and or small piece shops that will tattoo almost anything on anyone without any concern for placement and how it will look on aging skin. Make an appointment, look through the artists last year of work, ask a ton of questions and then sit on it for a day or two. Walking in to see an artist blindly is never really a great idea, unless you have seen several pieces of work by the artist. One good piece does not make a good artist. I have about 70% of my body done and the only piece I dislike is the one I got on a whim from an artist I did not know and had only seen a few pieces of work. What are looking to get done and where are you going to place it on your body? And what size are you looking to have it done?
If you are only looking for the outline I’d suggest finding an artist that only does black and grey work.
Going out this weekend again with friends to some shops they know down in the village, might head out to brooklyn to check that one out as well.
