How long before an open bottle of sake goes bad?

Asked by occ (4179points) January 26th, 2007
Is sake like red wine, where it goes bad after a few days? or is it more like white wine that can live longer in the fridge? some friends came over and drank half a bottle and I'm not sure if it's worth saving the rest.

I've never had a bottle of sake left-over...but I'd guess that it's proportional to the quality of the sake... and if you want to make bad sake taste better, heat it up. (Of course you never heat good quality sake)

you can also put red wine in the fridge to help it last longer. It also helps to use one of those vacuum pump thingies

If you keep it capped it will last for some time.

Sake, like wine, will begin to oxidize once it's opened. You'll have about 2-3 days to drink it once you've opened it.
