The tactical combat vehicle in Aliens.
The only one that sticks out is the Delorean from Back To The Future.
The Delorean time machine :)
Aww you beat me to it!
Ok, how about Shelby Mustang in Gone in 60 Seconds. Or The Love Bug. Or that giant puppy van in Ace Ventura.
The Challenger in Vanishing Point. Wow.
The Bond Z3, and those listed above.
The bicycle in Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.
the Dodge Challenger from Death Proof—hawt!
The Gen 11 – CHITTY CHITTY BANG BANG
The Pussy Wagon from Kill Bill.
The truck in A haunting in Connecticut. I think it was a ‘67, or 66 Chevy. Short bed, step side…nice.
The Mini in The Bourne Supremacy. I really liked how they didn’t give him a supercharged sports car with invisible camouflage and rocket launchers.
Land Speeder! From the first moment I saw it in Star Wars, I wanted one.
I also always wanted the Mach 5 from Speed Racer.
If you mean literally devices of transport and not figurative vehicles for messages, I would have to say the first things that came to mind—all those marvelous crazy airplanes in Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines. And the balloon in The Wizard of Oz.
Probably also the 1930s cars in Bonnie and Clyde.
@Jeruba – I am glad I am not alone. There are a few of us.
With our “old” movies.
The gorgeous horse-drawn sleighs in Dr. Zhivago.
The train in Anna Karenina.
The Orient Express in Agatha Christie’s eponymous mystery.
The enclosed cabriolet in “Mme Bovary.”
American Graffiti….......1955 Chevrolet….......“bad to the bone”.
The movie Christine…..........Plymouth that would not die. beautiful and powerful red automobile. anyone see the movie Christine? its radio played all the oldies.
KITT (1982 Pontiac Firebird version)
How about the telephone booth in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure
Eleanor (Shelby Mustang) from Gone in 60 Seconds.
The yellow submarine from The Yellow Submarine.
The “Back to the Future” DeLorean is the first one that came to mind. The cool flying train in Back to the Future III wasn’t bad, either.
Also, the Millenium Falcon rocks!
Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage
I particularly concur with the following;Bike from Butch & Sundance (raindrops keep falling on my head) Dodge from Deathproof,Chitty Chitty,Pussy Wagon from Kill Bill & The oldies from Bonnie & Clyde. No coincidence that they just happen to also be great movies.I’d add to that list,Mcqueen’s mustang from Bullitt & his motorcycle from The Great Escape.Cheers for all your answers people.
The Asten Martin DB3 from Goldfinger.
The Interceptor driven by Mad Max in The Road Warrior
The Chariots in Ben Hur
@filmfann – Yesss!
The Interceptor, last of the V8’s. I loved it when the blower started.
@ChazMaz A piece of history!
@boffin That’s Bullit. My dad was part of the car stunt team for that. (He told them what tires to use for each scene. Really!)
@filmfann It would be a shame to blow it up.
The vehicle driven by Humongous in The Road Warrior
Slave I. and any of the SW vehicles, really.
But really. Look at it.
I’m in love with a CGI ship.
EDIT: And TARDIS. I can never look at a phone booth the same.
Eleanor, the Shelby-Mustang from “Gone in 60 seconds”.. Crappy movie though, but the car is simply stunning.
The last of the V8 Interceptors from Mad Max 2.
