What is a good place to go camping near New York City?
Family usually goes camping every summer in Croton Point, NY but is looking for another place where we would be able to rent cabins and such.

I don’t know if Bear Mountain has camping, but I know they used to have a nice inn. It’s about half an hour north of NYC.
There are lots of State and County Parks where you can pitch a tent and camp for a day or a week. But those with cabins are mostly located Upstate. The nearest one to NYC would be in Rockland County – Harriman State Park
You can also checkout New Jersey State Parks in Sussex County, about an hour’s drive west of NYC
The subway system. A lot of interesting people seem to have live down there ^_^
I constructed a long answer and the computer crapped out on me. Here’s some:
Stokes State Forest, Sussex Cty., NJ – great CCC cabins
High Point State Park – northern NJ, also cabins
Worthington State Forest – tent camping, near Delaware Water Gap, tent camping
North-South Lake, Catskills – tent camping
Fahnestock State Park – New York State may have cabins
Great hiking at all
Do you have your camping permit?
Yeah i lived there enough where i can survive on the block haha.

My friend rehabbed a brownstone in Harlem a few years back. Quite a nice area actually. But when they first got started, he found 12 little crack bottles stuffed between some bricks outside. Obviously he called the police and turned it in. But it had him wondering about the neighborhood for a while. Definitely not the same neighborhood that it used to be.
I grew up in Harlem, went to HS in Harlem and still go back to two-fifth ever week.
