Can you eat doughnuts and not get fat?

Asked by MorenoMelissa1 (1140points) March 12th, 2010

I ate alot of doughnuts and manage to stay under 120 pounds. Keep in mind that I do exersize some everyday. Have I mastered the way of eating and exersize to keep a slim figure while eating what I love or am I just lucky?

Only if you eat the middle part, and none of those gooey-filled varieties

You are young I assume, I can do the same. I ate four donuts today. I’m 24 and 160lbs. It’s the metabolism. We can’t do this when we are 30.

It’s all about the calories taken in versus the calories expended. You are expending enough to keep your weight down. The question is what healthy foods are you not eating so that the calorie intake is staying low enough. But hey, if it’s working and you feel good, go for it!

Sure, I have a friend who never works out, eats like a horse, anything she fancies and has a stunning figure. Well I have a few like that actually. I just smell food and get fat. Thing is I eat very healthily for the most part. Better eating habits are just better for your body, you don’t want fatty bits around your heart and clogged arteries and be slim I am sure?

If you eat less than 2000 cal/day, I am sure you can eat 2 doughnuts/mo without having to buy a bigger wardrobe.

@Just Justine clogged arteries are not good for anyone.

I can, but unfortunately most other people have a bit of trouble.

@galileogirl I burn over 1300 calories a day with my activites alone.

You have my permission to eat 2 doughnuts/mo

I agree with @Blackberry. It will catch up with you one day.

Depends on how many you eat.

@MorenoMelissa1: Now on to mastering the art of spelling “exercise.”

And you did say in your profile that your area of expertise was “weight loss.” That sounds as though you are paying more attention to “calories in…calories out” than you imply here.

It all depends on your metabolism. I had a friend who ate the most fattening foods ever and she was hungry every 3 hours. She tried to gain weight but could only maintain a weight of 85 lbs. She was 5’4’ tall. When she got pregnant both times she would only weigh 95 lbs and both her kids were over 8 lbs when born.
Some people are just that way. Years later at 47 she has managed to get to 95 lbs and still eats like crazy. Some people are lucky that way.

Fact from fiction, truth from diction. Is it not WHAT YOU EAT it is WHAT YOU KEEP. Anyone can eat anything if they use up the calories you eat. That is the way most checking accounts go, if you use up more money than you are putting in your account goes to zero. And if you still keep going then you overdraft. To protect yourself from that your account is linked to your savings or your credit account. Fat should be your body’s overdraft, you should always be having the fat cells kick in to keep the body fueled because the intake calories are to short to do the job. The problem with American is they want Hungry Man or Super Sized everything. Fuss is always made that this company or that has a more whimpy burger than out Super Greasy Stacker with 1.25lbs of Angus beef loaded with all the toppings, then after you wolf that down with a Titanic like shake and Jumbo, jumbo fries you can sit on your far a** for the next 4 to 6 hours doing very little in the way of physicality; then wonder why you are fat after many months of this. Eat, breath MOVE and you can eat anything you want anytime of the day and not have to worry about buying 2 seats on a plane.
