Where can I learn about setting up enterprise wifi?

Can you qualify what you mean by ‘enterprise’ wifi, and how you think it differs from ordinary run-of-the-mill wifi?

Sure. We’ve got wireless set up on a school campus in the middle of nowhere, ~100 users. Students aren’t allowed to access the internet but everyone has access to file shares. Current set up is open wifi and a SonicWall firewall that requires manual ip declaration (not dhcp) and a login.

What I’d like to do is unify things to cut down on the manual steps and make it easier for visitors to hop on the network and give them privileges. It’s hard to figure out what the best practices are out there, I’m having a hard time finding good information (just finding sales pitches).

My thoughts were setting up active directory or the equivalent LDAP, and then having radius-wpa. I have no clue what the ramifications of this are, or what the gotchas are…
