I’m just wondering, does anyone ever cry themselves to sleep?

I’m sure most people here have at least once.
Not very frequently. I have in the past. It usually happens if I’ve had a big fight with someone I care about or if there’s something going on in my life that is stressing me out.
I don’t think I’ve ever done that. I don’t, these days, because if all is well, my love is next to me.
When I was little I used to, occasionally.
Not usually, no. I have before, but it’s rare and most of those times were when I was quite a bit younger.
I have, yes. Generally it’s indicative that someone is depressed if it happens on a regular basis. If it’s just every once in a while, it’s indicative that something really bad has happened and it’s a release. I did it, frequently, after my best friend killed himself.
Not often .I am more of a rage myself awake kinda girl ;)
Been there, done that—quite a few years ago, though.
Yeah, until I got sick of it. It had to occur to me that I could prevent 90% of the unhappiness I felt just by changing the way I live my life. Exceptions would be the death of someone you love, things like that. I didn’t marry until I was 36, so there were some pretty lonely nights over the years.
In the last six months, quite a few times.
I’ve cried while trying to sleep before, but crying myself to sleep doesn’t work. First of all the pillow gets all wet, then snot runs down my nose so I have to get up and blow it, then I usually have a smoke since I’m up again and after that I’m wide awake. Life is hard haha.
I try not to but sometimes I can’t help it. Forever is a scary thought.
Yes, but I find it harder to not cry when I wake up in the morning. Facing the day is worth crying over!
Yes, not necessarily all-out crying, but a few streams of tears. And sometimes it’s the best way to fall asleep. Sometimes it’s a way of really figuring things out, of getting your thoughts straight; it’s therapeutic. Sometimes it’s a way of clearing your head, so that you can sleep, without lying in bed thinking all night.
I have, many times. It’s been a long time since I’ve needed to, though. {hugs} to all of you who find yourselves in that situation now.
There are times when I do, if something has really upset me enough. Luckily it’s not as regular an occurance as it used to be for me.
@stardust -Rage is so much more satisfying because it’s everyone else’s fault :) LOL!
@lucillelucillelucille I’m drawing up a petition to abolish any ideas regarding personal responsibility. We’ve got to fight for our right to Rage! ;)
