I have not been exposed to vintage porn other than an occasional segment in documentaries I have watched. The porn from the 70’s and 80’s had a storyline associated with it. I guess current porn has been designed to just provide the actual sex act, preventing the need to fast-forward and rewind to the sex act itself. The old porn offered a gradual build to the exciting part, making it much more interesting. Now that women are openly expressing an interest in porn, maybe they will start producing porn that appeals to the female gender. Is the vintage porn readily available on the net, like the current stuff?

Vintage porn can be as explicit as contemporary porn. It’s quite fascinating to see the trappings of a bygone era engaged in such a primal activity. There are tons of archives online, if one is interested in digging up more.

@mrentropy If only. Porn is more an indicator of what’s taboo (and thus risque and exciting) in a culture than it is of what’s acceptable. Very few people buy porn consisting only of fully adult white people doing missionary position, so far as I know.

I think what you call “vintage” was the normative erotica of my adolescence, but I collect erotic photographs and postcards from the 1880s through the 1950s, and I find it to be charming, lovely, genuine, not at all demeaning to women, and somehow even innocent.
