My fingertips sometimes emit a sweet odor? I know we all lose bodily vapors from sweat, but what does this mean?

Two ideas:
1. nice-smelling soap you forgot you washed with awhile back
2. grovelling around in the candy box
Welcome to fluther, @makncsu!
Are you cooking with any ingredients that have a strong scent? My hands can smell like onions and/or garlic if I don’t wash them thoroughly after cooking.
Welcome to fluther. It might have something to do with scratching on your skin.

Giggles. Where have your fingers been? Hi. I’m the one that always gets moderated. Welcome to fluther.
Scrape under your fingernails. Maybe some soap or something is stuck under there.
You sweat pure sugar. You should bottle it and sell it.
You may have your fingers in too many pies, sweet ones that is.

If you run your fingers through your hair a lot they pick up the scent of your shampoo/the natural odors of your hair.
Sorry that none of us have a scientific/biological explanation. :(
But we’re nice people.
@papayalily I wonder how long it will take for your stupid comment to be moderated.
Occasionally people experiencing hyperglycemia will emit sweet smell from their lungs (in their breath), and/or glucose in their urine. Perhaps it’s coming out in your sweat in places where the capillaries are close to the surface? I know excess ketones in the blood can be emitted this way. Are you diabetic? If so this could be it. If not, maybe consult a doctor just to rule it out
It might give off that odor because it could have something to do with the type of shampoo you are using.
