The question is interesting, but, you prefer to be a voyeur?

It’s hard to keep my mouth shut, so I would say that if I follow it with interest I am bound to say something. Of course there are some truly obnoxious threads that I follow just to annoy myself.
Yes, I do. Sometimes it is a NSFW question; sometimes a political one that I don’t want to weigh in on. Sometimes there is a confrontation going on that intrigues me or it is a subject that I want to learn about but have no knowledge of. It doesn’t happen often because I usually have a “brilliant” opinion to contribute, but I do sometimes just “like to watch.”
Every so often. It’s rare though. Usually I follow questions that ask about website recommendations. I won’t always add to them but I will follow them so that I can check out all the recommendations from other people.
Sure.Sometimes, someone will answer it much the way I would’ve so I don’t need to add to it—as much as I might want to—;))
I have several questions that I am following that stir me to think and evaluate my own perceptions.
I tend to be a ’wait and see’ sort of person. Often I see that I have nothing to add. Even so, I often express my lurve from a distance.
All the time.Sometimes, a GA is all that is needed.
I occasionally decide to watch a thread I don’t participate in. But to be honest, I usually lose interest soon. :/
“Soon” here being the point where it starts to take effort to keep up and other interesting threads present themselves.
@lucillelucillelucille that’s what I do, too. I sometimes give several GA’s on answers that I like & then just move on. But yes, I do this all the time.
Yup. Sometimes I’m interested in a topic, and hang back to watch smarter minds at work.
I’m guessing at least half of the questions in my activity are questions I didn’t answer.
I’ve started that way a couple of tomes but ultimately I feel the need to say something, no matter how stupid it may be. It’s this little problem I have, see. It’s where I can’t keep my fat mouth shut.
I’ve done this before, but mostly for modding purposes. If there is a thread that looks like it could get pretty heated then I follow it. If it does then I insert a “mod says:” comment, if it doesn’t then I never write anything.
@AstroChuck Some threads do read like a “couple of tomes.” :-)
Sorry. ...a couple of times…
Jeesh!
Sorry @AstroChuck, I have been described as extra-vigilent by people who know me and hyper-vigilent by people who know me even better.
@janbb; Oh, dear. You mean extra and hyper-vigilant, I am sad to say.
Oh my goodness, not so vigilant after all! Hoist by my own petard!
I’ve stalked an occasional question, yes, although I haven’t moved on to people yet.
@janbb: From the French “péter,” meaning to “break wind.” Le pétard is the wind itself.
Yes. Sometimes it’s the person who is interesting, sometimes it’s the subject matter. It’s one of the ways I learn things on my own time.
Really? I always thought it was a kind of weapon like a sword?
I have too much to read on questions I am participating in to be able to lurk on another question. As it is, I can’t afford to read more than half the stuff on the questions I want to say something on.
Yes because some arguments are not worthwhile. It is self defeating to offer help to someone who does not wish constructive help.
I never wish to hurt anyones feelings. I prefer to be helpful.
I shamefully admit I sometimes sit back and follow questions that have mini feuds in them or have the potential to get exciting. * sigh * I love a good drama or thriller from the sidelines.
I am a bad bad jelly * bows head *
I don’t even click on the question unless I intend to post something.
I will if it’s something I want to learn more about or I might have asked it myself if I would have thought of it. Learning new things is one of the pleasures of being on Fluther.
@YARNLADY – Oh you are looking so cute with bunny ears!
Yes, there’s one question I’ve done this with. I’m still trying to figure out my answer because it’s a great question. I’ve put my brain on simmer.
Yes I do sometimes follow a question and not post an answer. I might be interested but not feel that I have anything to add.
