I wanted to be a ballerina just like every other little girl. Now i’m into forensics.
I wanted to be a teacher, a lawyer, an astronaut, and a vet.
But now I have no job, so I volunteer at the local homeless shelter.
I just want to make it to seven.
I always thought I wanted to be a court reporter. Even in my senior year of high school I still had that dream. But didn’t have the money to pursue it until my children were grown. Went to college and am now a pharmaceutical rep.
I had millions of different dreams! YAY! :D
And now….I have millions of different dreams…ugh.
Writer… dancer…
and I’d still like to, and I’m still not ‘grown up,’ but I don’t see how either’s going to happen…
When I was about 4, I told my parents I wanted to be water so people could swim in me when they got too hot.
I wanted to be a vet for a while, but I became too sensitive towards animals.
Commercial Airline Pilot
Fireman
Policeman (I’ve been a military policeman for 22 years now)
I wanted to be supreme dictator for life. Then I got a look at all the dictators. Unattractive, icky beards, (Except Kin Jong Il), big bellies, uniforms with probably fake ribbons. Nah.
I wanted to be a xeno-anthropolgist. I was convinced that by the time I grew up we’d have been travelling all over the galaxy and found sentient life on other planets. I’d be there studying it.
I told my dad what I wanted to do, and he gave the the word with a latin lesson mixed in. Not only was I a geek, but so were my parents.
I wanted to be a dinosaur. No luck yet. :(
I settled on being a scientist.
Astronaut. But I still want to be that. Can’t say for sure if I’ve even grown up yet, so I suppose I have time still.
When I was really, really little, I wanted to be a veterinarian or a teacher.
At one point, I remember wanting to be a stripper. My parents raised me well.
—What is a lesbain dinosaur called? A lickalottapuss. ;-)
I wanted to be a missionary nun…can you tell I went to Catholic school 12 years…and survived….and I am not a nun…
As a kid, I dreamed of working in the investor relations department of a multi-billion conglomerate. Yep, that’s the ticket, I’m living my dream.
@summerlover – I was a catholic school girl as well, though I never felt the desire to be a nun… but then again religion wasn’t a big part of my home life…just school which I hated because the nuns were flat out nasty.
At the age of 4 I wanted to be a shop keeper…at the age of 8 I wanted to be a zoo keeper…at the age of 12 I wanted to be a Biologist, then a vet, then an optometrist….now I’m studying psychology…..go figure.
Teacher. Hippie backpacking across Europe. Park Ranger. Astronaut. Truck driver. Landscape architect. Entrepreneur. Writer. Soldier. Police Officer.
15 years into my human service career… I still have time to do everything on the list.
Awww. I wanted to be an Archeologist. AND Miss America.
Now I’m a Quality Assurance Rep.
Photographer for National Geographic.
I became a travel agent instead, but now I am a stay-at-home mom.
I’m in the military but I always wanted to be a writer which I have accomplished. I’m working on my second novel. When I get out of the military, I want to go to culinary school and become a pastry chef .
Write children stories, then a nun, then a teacher, then be a scientist, then I had a Jacque Cousteuo (not sure of spelling) period, then a doctor (surgeon) , then an accountant, then a lawyer. Oh, forgot one I really wish I could do. Be a photographer for National Geographic Magazine.
But since I was 10, I wanted to be a mom, and I did that. :)
I wanted to be a trapeze artist in the Moscow Circus, or a veterinarian… I’ve outgrown those ideas now..
Sales rep for a department store. Did it.
Sales rep for a small fashion boutique. Did it.
Model. Did it.
Good wife to a hot husband. Doin’ it. ;)

I wanted to be a journalist. I also wanted to be an archeologist after seeing Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I wanted to push buttons on a cash register, I did that
I wanted to be a chef, I was a cook
Mostly I wanted to be a mom.
and I am
I think it changed every week! So many things looked interesting to me. The one constant through all of that, though, was to be a paramedic. Did it! Yay, me :)
Anything but a Realtor. my parents both were Realtors and I never saw them…I hated that profession with a passion
I wanted to sell my veggies/fruits from my garden at my stand and be a mom, but I don’t have kids or the cool stand on the side of the road.
@meagan, would you really want to be a nun? I can’t imagine…you would miss out on the best thing in life…being a mom…
I wanted to work with children and I have. Really,I wanted to be, who I am today.
@summerlover F motherhood. hahahaha ;P
It isn’t some big feat to have a child. Fourteen year old’s are doing it all over the country.
The best thing in life is arguable.
A Sunday School Teacher, a pilot, a Marine, a rock star…
Top Gun – Maverick or Ice Man – not Goose (because of his fateful end)
@meagan Doing it right is what makes it so hard. That IS a feat. By the way, I’ve always admired the life of a nun :)
I never really wanted to be anything in particular. I was afraid to want because I didn’t want to be disappointed. Well, I got what I wanted.
Rock star.
I can sing, but I’m a bit too old to make a plausible goal of it now.
When I was little I thought it would be fun to be the person who made milk shakes at the drug store counter.
@phillis Pff. Its a sad day when someone should be praised for raising the child they brought into the world correctly. x_x
I know that I’m young. But I’m just the kind of person that doesn’t “get” children.
I wanted to be a dolphin trainer. Then I wanted to be a ballerina. Then I wanted to be a paleontologist (only because of Jurassic Park…)
a doctor, an Indian chief [but not a lawyer]
@Trillian some of those dictators looked pretty hot in their younger days: Fidel, Muammar Khadafi [or however they are spelling it today], shah Reza Pahlevi, even Saddam didn’t look too bad. I think there was another middle eastern hunk but I forget who.
Horse jockey
Archeologist
Artist
Bordello owner
Captain of the Starship Enterprise
A drummer. Now I’m a guitarist.
Between the ages of 4 and 18 years old I wanted to do the following (some more seriously than others): Vet, Singer, Actress (really I was just desperate to play Annie!), Travel Agent (my mum did this for a while and I thought it looked like fun, this “dream” didn’t last very long!), Midwife (this was one of my more serious considerations) and journalist. I am none of those things nowadays!
@rangerr I told my parents that I wanted to be a Mermaid and I was adamant that I would be one day!
@AstroChuck And Danger Man was directed by Maxwell Smart’s uncle, Ralph Smart.
