Why do I have 45 Gbs of un-defraggable data on my Windows Vista PC?

Asked by kyle94481 (214points) March 23rd, 2010

Using Defraggler, every time I scan before defragging, it shows like 45 Gbs of fragmented data. Then I attempt to defrag it and end up with basically the same number. Any help as to why this is so? I believe there was an update for Vista that solved this problem, but eradicated the ability to downgrade to Xp afterwards, but I may be wrong.

I’ve got that too. I think it’s from some partition that I can’t get to.

install this
http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

uses system optimization,
clean you’re old back-up files

(in one month you could be holding 12 old GB sized backup files you don’t need.

fixes all errors.

i’ve had it for 3 years, best thing ever.

@kyle94481: It wouldn’t matter (much) if you were using an SSD. Also, you really should consider switching to Linux if you are worried about all the problems with Windows.
