Death panels! FEMA concentration camps! The President indoctrinating schoolchildren by telling them to do their homework!
We’ve all heard some of these… ahem, theories. What’s the most bizarre example that you’ve encountered?

Anything Glenn Beck pukes up.
The whole ACORN thing seemed blown out of proportion, but admittedly I didn’t really pay much attention either way.
The FEMA concentration camps was my fav but a close second was FEMA commandeering all sorts of rail cars to store all the dead bodies during a mass casualty event or pandemic outbreak. The mysterious massive black plastic coffin farm was entertaining as well.
On another Q&A website, someone tried to argue with me that vegetables are actually really unhealthy and injected with bad things by our government as a way to keep us sick. wtf.
Edit: I see now you said right-wing conspiracy theory. Sorry. I just thought that one was interesting.
Does 9/11 count, the whole, it was W & his cronies thing… as if that bunch of incompetents could have pulled that off.
Alien mind control drugs in the swine flu vaccine. Actually, the craziest is when they are all rolled together into one: Obama is a Muslim who is not an American Citizen and secretly wants to turn America into a Socialist Islamic regime through mind control drugs made from fetuses in the swine flue vaccine and indoctrinating our schoolchildren with speeches and using death panels to kill off anyone who disagrees or sending them to FEMA camps.
im not sure if this is exactly right wing or not, but it sure as hell is crazy.
The Iluminati are the real “power behind the throne” of the Bildeburger/International Financiers/Queen of England conspiracy. Talk about paranoia! Sigh.
@CaptainHarley But don’t forget that Obama is their Islamo-Fascist Socialist tool to control the world with alien mind control drugs made from fetuses in the swine flu vaccine.
How about when that group of right wing Christian’s whose agenda was to “incite Armageddon” decided to support Obama’s run for president because they all believed he was the son of satan?
Also this isn’t conspiracy related, but WTF thought the name Teabaggers was a good idea? I think some lefties should start a group called the Rusty Trombones so they can have gang fights with the Teabaggers.
You gotta admire their creativity in thinking up some of these things though.
UFO’s, Ghosts, Big Foot, and the Loch Ness Monster.
@drClaw I hadn’t heard that one! Interesting.
@Snarp You win for the sheer breadth of the theory. :-)
To all: Keep ‘em coming!
That vaccines give you autism.
….oh wait, you said right wing conspiracies…
@Snarp
Welcome! Most of these conspiracy theories would be funny as hell if some people didn’t actually believe in them!
There is a troll in my file cabinet.
Sarah Palin can be president.
@Shae Lest we forget she can see the Russians plotting against us right out her kitchen window!
I read several comments that the ‘Tea Party’ protesters who called the black congressmen the “N” word and called Barney Frank the “F” word, were planted by Democrats or were actually Democrats trying to discredit the anti-health care demonstrators.
It’s funny, all I can think of are crazy left-wing conspiracy theories and I am a left-winger.
I’d have to say Obama being a terrorist because of his middle name is pretty crazy. Or the WBC’s belief that all of the world’s problems are caused by homosexuality.
The death panels. The Congress (House average age 56, Senate 60) are going make laws that will kill or withhold medical care for people over 65’
That Harry Potter taught my generation to worship Satan and overthrow the government.
I thought the FEMA concentration camp thing was way out there. I also don’t t get the love for Sarah Palin, a half term governor.
@thriftymaid I agree. FEMA wasn’t even competent enough to manage the aftermath of Katrina, but suddenly they’re supposed to be part of a huge conspiracy?
Not.
While that theory is a natural for the right wing, I agree that they don’t have enough expertise to put together a viable tea party let alone figure out who could even set up a concentration camp. Now if they said Blackwater instead of FEMA then that might make me nervous
Great Caesar’s ghost, the biggest I heard outside of 9/11 was known of but allowed by G.W. and the boys so they could have a go in Iraq (settle the vendetta) was that AIDS was created and let loose on the Gay and Black population to blot out huge numbers of them.
