If it wasn’t, what’s the incentive for you to show up? Why not take a day off every pay period?
If you don’t have vacation time, sick time, or comp time (which is usually negotiated prior to the absence) then you have to take a day of unpaid leave.
Contact the state labor board.
Dont you have any sick days?
How about Personal Holiday?
No work (no sick days, no personal days) = no pay! Keep in mind, the boss may not always be right, but he is always the boss.
If a person is salary and they work more hours they still get base salary. If you work less hours from being sick for one day dosen’t salary still mean salary? Isn’t that supposed to be a benefit of salaried employees unless the days off are to an extreme. The employer benefits from being able to work the salaried employee as much as they want, shouldn’t it work both ways? I’m not stating facts, just what makes sense to me.
