Hang back for a while. Watch what is going on before you start throwing chips on the table.
Avoid the “hard ways”, they are hard to make and don’t happen very often. That is why they carry higher odds.
While you are hanging around and waiting, make a few pass or no pass bets to get the feel for the table.
Wait till someone who is holding the dice “seems’ to be “hot’ and bet with him or her.
Maintain the same size bets, don’t leave winnings on the table and let them “ride’, that is a good way to feel lucky and an even better way to end up walking to the airport with your luggage because you don’t even have cab fare in your pocket at the end of your stay.
If you have been at the table for a while, say over an hour, and you are plus some money when you leave, “tip’ the table. Throw a chip (smallest one you have been betting, $5 or $25) on a hard way and tell ‘em it’s for the crew. THEY might get lucky.
Oh the other good advice———
Take $100. Rip up the bills real well, really small pieces.
Toss ‘em out the window.
You will get the same ultimate result without the anguish.

Never bet money that you are not willing to lose. Walk in with 500$ and realize that you are going to walk out without that money. And you need to go to the water-park on the Strip.
