What is the answer to this radio question?
A few years ago I was driving to work and heard a question on the radio. They were giving away a prize for the caller with the right answer. I didn’t get to hear the answer because I had to go to work. It’s been driving me nuts ever since.
The question was “What smell/scent/aroma do people like the most?”
Is there one single researched answer to this question?
Answers that were given, but incorrect were vanilla, chocolate, baking bread, baking cookies, clean laundry, and lemon. There may have been others that I’m not recalling. Also, they finally gave the hint, after many wrong answers, that it was commonly found in the kitchen.
Any ideas? Is this like some solid fact that I can find somewhere?

Pumpkin pie?
That has cinnamon in it.
Hmmm???
A few years ago? You’ve been giving this a lot of thought, haven’t you?
Bacon or coffee. Bacon would do it for me.
Oh yeah, bacon or meat candy as I call it and coffee. That might be it.
I don’t know the answer but my guess is orange. It is probably the most common scent/flavor in soaps, candy, etc. and I think it has been proven to be the most stress-relieving scent.
@CyanoticWasp bacon is a good idea. I definitely love that.
@dpworkin What kind of weirdo lets their cats in the kitchen? That’s not sanitary.
Apple Pie, Pine Trees, or Coffee. I’m not sure, but it must be between those three.
Oh you said not vanilla, my bad.
Napalm in the morning. Smells like…victory.
When realtors want to sell a house, they tell you to put a pot of water, cinnamon, orange peel, cloves, and nutmegs to simmer on the stovetop.
Thinking about all the cleaning products commonly used in the kitchen,in addition to food,I’d say the orange scent over lemon and pine.
The Ocean (we are jellyfish, after all).
