Will lemon juice actually make my nails grow faster?

Asked by miss_banana (19points) April 2nd, 2010

I thought that liquids make your nails softer. I don’t know I just assumed. But watch this video. Tell me if you think this will work because I’m struggling to grow long strong nails.

I didn’t sit through the video, but lemon juice makes no sense to me. If you want your nails to grow keep them painted. It can be clear polish, drug store brands like Loreal and Revlon are fine, at least three coats, remove and repaint every 4 or 5 days. In two weeks you will have “nails.” Don’t use fast dry polish.

Check out people who work in citrus juicing plants. If they all have long nails – then yes. Otherwise it is probably what it sounds like – just more nonsense.

I saw this question and immediately thought of the people who use lemon juice to try to curb a nail-biting habit.

So, maybe this: Lemon juice prevents biting, which lets the nails grow normally.
