Why won't my camera take pictures?

Asked by simonPARASITE (195points) April 2nd, 2010

I have a Canon 350D and last night it stopped taking pictures. Every other function works, I can change my shutter speeds/apertures, review old pictures. I’ve tried it in manual and auto mode, neither works. There’s plenty of space on my memory card, I just can’t take pictures. Help?

Need new batteries?

Go into the menu system and find a “Restore Factory Settings or similar setting. Try that. If that doesn’t work then remove the battery for an hour or two (sometimes it needs to be overnight) and then re-insert it and see if the camera has reset.

CamerAngst?

If it still doesn’t work after doing the restore settings, and trying to reset by removing batteries overnight, then try a different memory card if you have one, or download the pics off of it and try reformatting the card. If non of those things help it’s probably a service center type issue.
