How do you build a rabbit hutch?

So.. I have two of the most adorable rabbits in the world right now.
My parents weren’t thrilled when I brought them home, but I can keep them on the condition that I build a rabbit hutch. Rabbits live outside. Not in my house.
Problems are:
1. I don’t know how to build one. I built stables by myself if that helps.
2. They are pretty big. Holland Lops for you rabbit people. About the size of a house cat for everyone else.
3. We don’t have a fence… and my neighborhood isn’t the best. How can I keep them safe from people?

Also, we have hawks around.
So if anyone knows any way to keep them from creeping on my babies…
Here is some instructions to build one.
it has fencing around it to keep your babies safe.=}
Has nobody built their own rabbit hutch? Hrm.
@Bing I do like that page, though.
My dad and I built the rabbit hutches for our rabbits. They look a lot like this. It’s definitely important to provide a safe place for them within the hutch. You can see the little room on the right side of the hutch in the picture. I also think the roof should be slightly slanted so any rain that lands on the hutch won’t just sit there.
Here’s a decent link. It provides you with materials and tools.
Good luck.
You just need some chicken wire, wood, nails, hammer, and something to cut the wood and wire with. Make sure they have access to shade/shelter from rain or whatever. The photo of a hutch that @Vunessuh linked to is what all the hutches I’ve ever seen look like.
I can’t build things or afford a decent hutch, so when we got our rabbit I found a great hutch on craigslist for $20. It was practically new. They usually sell for $200 and up. You might want to consider checking craigslist just to see if someone has a hutch they want to sell for a good price. You might even get a better deal than buying the materials. Although, it wouldn’t meet your parents’ criteria of you building it yourself.
Ours looks kind of like this. It would be easy to fence an area around the hutch and have a ramp from the entrance so the bunnies can go in and out as they please.
Just a thought: You might want to make sure the male is neutered. Rabbits are not above incest. Otherwise, just build a really big hutch. :)
I did it!
I’ll take a good picture tomorrow.
It’s a double cage hutch. No babymaking on my watch.
@MissAusten We are definitely getting him neutered. He won’t leave the poor girl alone.
