Why do the outside ends of women's eyebrows thin out and disappear?

I have noticed my eyebrows are almost gone. At least at the ends. Is it only women that have that problem or do men have it too?

Might be the same reason that men have thinning spots on the top of their heads.
@RealEyesRealizeRealLies , yes it might be. But, I wonder what we can do besides draw lines with a pencil (and looks like a pencil) and make it look half way decent. Have you ever heard of tattooing the eyebrows. I have heard of it, but never seen it.
As women age, we actually loose body hair….. our hair thins, the hair on our legs etc…..eyebrows too. Mine have lightened in colour and thinned a bit. We have less female hormone and things shift. We may even get little whisker hairs on our lip and chin as our oestrogen lowers.
Men’s eyebrows usually get more bristly and long and the hair in their ears and nose grow. Weird, isn’t it?
All human hair thins out to some degree all over their body. So when we pluck we tend to arch our brows and pluck that area too which by nature is thinner already. Then when our hairs start to thin we notice it more.
The best way to deal with it is to use an angled brush (from Bobbi Brown or Mac) specially for eyebrow make-up, and a shadow in a taupe colour. The idea is to use feathered strokes at the angle your eyebrow grows. You can seal it with a brow mascara in clear or brown.
Men have thinning spots atop their heads? Apparently not all of us!
The real question is why do women pluck their eyebrows only to draw them back?
My grandmother used to draw them in with a black Bic Ink Pen. Once as a kid, I switched her black ink tube with green on April Fools Day. Oh boy was she mad.
@davidbetterman hehe, you are so funny. We pluck our eyebrows to shape them and so they won’t look wooly. We only draw back in over the brow we have left that we want, so we can fill in any areas that need it.
So, are you telling us that you have a full head of hair??
@Just_Justine Thanks for the info. I didn’t know there was a brow mascara. I will try that.
@cazzie, My grandson (3) saw me pulling out hairs from my chin one day. Weeks later he was playing and found the tweezers. He took them to a contractor I had working for us, and handed them to him. The contractor pretended to pluck his eyebrows. My grandson said, no, no, and he took them back and said on the chin. Out of the mouths of babe’s.
@Rangie Yes my dear. I have the same amount of hair as when I attended high school. it is thick and curly, although there is much more gray in it than in the wayback!
(I always get a kick out of the envious looks I get when I have a haircut in a beauty salon where most of the other patrons [ladies usually] are getting perms)!
I also get a kick out of the attitude I perceive from bald and balding men my age (mid-50s)!
@davidbetterman Not fair daavidbetterman. It must be all that testosterone. It seems the little testosterone we girls get is in our chinny chin chins. Why there, why not stay put on our eyebrows?
@Rangie
Maybe because you girls pluck all those eyebrows, so the hair decides to grow on your chins!
@davidbetterman honestly, you are so funny. There are a number of things that are not quite fair for all of us girls. I think we were overlooked in certain areas. hehe
@Rangie Perhaps, but you make up for them in certain other areas!!!
