“I want to cut your face off and dance around my house wearing it as a mask.”

Otherwise,

“You are gorgeous, and fascinate me.”

and if it happens in the kind of frequency which seems like “taking every chance available”?

The starer was daydreaming, then he realised he was, thus giving the awkward smile as an apology (“Sorry for staring, wasn’t meaning to give you the impression i want to cut your face off”)?

@rebbel – what if the starer doesn’t seem to be lost in thoughts? but rather, looking intently.

rebbel's avatar

That would seem to be very impolite to me.
If i had the guts, i would ask him/her what he/she is trying to ‘say’ with his/her behaviour.

but the starer is not a stranger.

“have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight?”

It could be a shy and socially inept person who has a crush on you.

Or maybe you had something on your face and they were too polite to point it out.

When I stare at people, I’m usually just zoning out. Sometimes, when a person notices that I’ve been “staring” at them, I’ll smile at them, so they don’t think I mean any harm. But ‘m sure I still come across as creepy.

Robot dance. Works.. every time.

@Violet That happens to me! On a bus I sort of daydream and when I snap back I realise I am staring right at someone, usually, with my luck, a perverted young/old man of some sort who then proceed to grab at my butt and follow me off the bus.

But if then again without bad luck.. I wouldn’t have any luck at all.

@TheOnlyException oh no! Nothing like that has happened to me, but I do remember this one time in high school, the sun was in my eyes, and my friend thought I was mugging her

TheOnlyException's avatar

@Violet LOL your friend thought you were mugging her?
ahaha

were you? :P

edit:// ahaha sorry took ‘mugging’ to mean something else (in britain it means to steal someones stuff)
LOL had a hard time figuring that one out

Violet's avatar

@TheOnlyException oh how funny! Mugging mean stealing here in the US too, but it also means to stare down, or give a mean look.

yeah. sometimes it’s just a minute or two though.

JackiePaper's avatar

I would ask the person if they took their meds after 1 minute.

TheOnlyException's avatar

@Violet aha i see, it only means stealing here, nothing else hence my confusion 0_o
:P
