Does anyone have any tips on remembering lines in movies and/or tv shows?
It seems some people may just comprehend and retain more information, I know people who can recite lines from tv shows they saw years ago.
Same thing could apply for reading, looking for tips on retaining more information from text and/or video

I annoy my family with that. My kids are constantly trying to figure out which movie I am noting.
Sometimes I wish I didn’t remember lines from old TV shows! People are always looking at me funny when I come up with an obscure quote to fit a situation.
Just kidding, I don’t really wish I couldn’t remember things. But I do think I’m a nerd most of the time…
I do it because I’m cursed with memory. I not only remember the words, but the nuance and expression. my kids hate it. A man who knows which movie I’m quoting had better watch out. I plan to snatch him up and force him to realize that he’s my soul mate.
@Dr_Dredd I know! I will be studying some tech manual on a new piece of equipment I need to install and program, and I feel like my brain is full. Can’t I just delete all the words to those TV show themes, and make some room?
@filmfann If you find an effective way to do a selective data dump, please let me know. I’m prepared to pay!
@Dr_Dredd Its definitely a talent, I can place the scene to fit a situation but im the guy that will mess the line up :/
Watch the movie like three times! that should do it. It’s like that for me with all those cool ‘80’s movies, even though that was before I was born, My older bros always talk about it so it rubbed off on me :)
Either those people watch the same movie over and over again until they remember the lines or they’re amazingly talented.

Right after you hear them, practice saying your favourite lines to yourself. Watch it again to get the inflection right. @jazmina88 has it right – repetition is usually the key.
Invent mnemonic hooks using graphic images in a funny short story. Suppose you watch a movie with someone named Rodan Zappa telling a story. Picture him as someone sitting on a couch with a remote control in his hand. He’s channel zapping until he stops, eyes wide open. There’s a rodent on television gnawing at something that looks like a remote control.
I’m not kidding. Crazy little stories like this will give your brain and its associative cortex no choice but to remember it. All you need is a short moment of focus. Pay attention to your own little story. You won’t ever forget it.
