Broke the toe next to my big toe (whatever that’s called) 3 months ago. To date, it itches like crazy and is still discolored. It’s not a bruise discoloring, just a darker shade than all my other toes. Are these 2 scenarios common this long afterwards?

i had surgery on my big toe 3 years ago, and it still hurts and itches. esp. when its really really cold or rainy out. not sure the reasons, but it happens semi-regularly.
Did you have pins put it?
My girlfriend thinks its got something to do with the nerves being damaged. Your brain may be interpreting the signal coming from the damaged nerves as something resembling itching.
Thanks g33, seems to be the general consensus around the intertoobs…
Also as healing occurs you may feel itching so it is very possible it is still healing.
broken bone will always hurt everytime its cold, raining or snowing.
I have the same thing! It itches and is a different color and has been healed for over 2 months
