I think it is the same thing that makes ripe fruit attractive; round, meaty, soft but not too soft, succulent.

I honestly don’t know myself. It’s a combination of roundness, bigness and softness. I think a woman with a decent backside accompanied with large hips represents a healthy looking woman of pinnacle femininity. There are some women with shapes that can be compared to men, but when a woman has a certain body shape, you just know that’s a woman.

A nice ass means thong panties…I love thong panties. And when my hands are resting there I am checking for thong pantie lines…just making sure! ;)

i think it has to do with our primal instinct. Most of the animal kingdom mounts the female from the rear during mating season. So we tend to look at the rear of woman. Totally guessing on this, but it makes sense.

For me it is all about the owner of the “ass”.

If I like the person then I’ll look more than once at their bum. I like firm booty and one I can tap my fingers on while watching a movie in bed. It’s got to have a particular spring back to it and while the booty bod is on it’s side, I’ve got to be able to cup a bun in my palm as I snuggle up to sleep.

I recently read an article somewhere that made the same claim @willbrawn just quip’d above… and extended the concept further as to why guys like women’s cleavage so much… because, it kinda looks like a butt.

The theory then is that a plunging neckline basically speaks to a guy’s subconscious and literally says, “Hey hon, come get some.”

this is just a little speculation, but it is our asses that help us quite a bit to walk upright. so there could even be some “ass craving” built in to us as part of the pick a healthy mate process.

i have actually asked my self this very question quite a bit over the years, and for me personally i think i like them so much because they are quite soft compared to other parts of the body, and also because what they reveal when one bends over. (quite a fan of doggy style)

I remember hearing this idea put forward by a developmental psychologist that said that men like arses so much as they remind us of womens breasts…... personally, Im not so sure he wasnt just smoking crack!
