Is having a major and double minor possible? And if it is then is it even a good idea?

I want to major in global studies with a minor in Japanese and a minor in Spanish which both kind of relate with global studies.

Totally possible! That’s what I have. Mine are unrelated (major in Psychology, minors in Music and Spanish) but I figure I can name drop them through life. If you have time, go for it.
You can do this, but it will be most difficult. If you have a gift for the languages, go for it, but be sure you can handle the work and the stress of such an attempt.
Yes it’s possible and yes, it can be a good idea. As @filmfann points out, it will be a lot of work. I say go for it! What’s the worst that happens? You drop one of the languages and pick it up somewhere else along the line.
It all depends on the school. I had a double major (mechanical engineering and history) resulting in two bachelors degrees in five years. It did require carrying a course overload almost every semester and going summer semesters.
Majoring in mechanical engineering is a lot different than majoring in Global Studies. I would say that @stranger_in_a_strange_land, you’re nuts! The way my school was set up, it was nearly impossible to double major with ME and finish in 5 years. So, I do agree it depends on the school and the individual.
What advantage will the minors have toward your career goals? You don’t necessarily need a minor to learn a language.
@lilikoi They told me I was nuts while I was doing it, but I did it anyway. Now I have masters degrees in both also.
