Does kissyoutube.com make youtube videos compatible with iTunes?

Asked by desiree333 (3241points) April 10th, 2010

I want to put music videos onto my iPod, and I think kissyoutube.com is one way to do it. But how do you use it? I already copied the url into it and have the video download detail, but what do I do to make it file to put on my iTunes, then sync it to my iPod?

www.zamzar.com

always worked for me. range of formats to convert to. can do it via url (click the option for it)
and its free.
they send it to your email within 24 hours (but for really short videos like 3 mins, only takes about 10–30 mins to get it) and you can then download the converted file to your computer and sync it to mp3/4 player.

but they only store the converted file for 24 hours just to let you know. :)

hope its helpful! hasnt let me down yet

@TheOnlyException Wow, that seems really easy. I just copy/pasted a youtube url, and they are sending it to my email. Thanks :)

I just got an email saying that the conversion failed. Great. Does this happen to you too?

@desiree333 what were you converting and how big
send me the link i can have a go if ya like, i dont recall that happening to me…
what were you trying to convert it to?

this was it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d2smz_1L2_0&feature=channel

But I re-tried it and it worked! How do you drag the file to iTunes? Do you open the attatchment then drag it? Or do you download the file then drag it to iTunes?

glad it worked! what browser do you have? you have to download it to your computer, then there should be a little thing to click “open file in windows explorer” (like in “my computer”)
and then you can drag it into itunes from there.

um, google is my browser? I think (whats a browser) sorry. Okay, so I’ll try it again and open it in my computer.

@desiree333 Your browser is what you open to use the internet, Google is your search engine. Your browser can be Safari, Firefox, IE, Google Chrome and many others.

Now hold onto something, as I solve your problem and knock your socks off.

Put the URL of the YouTube video into this site, and download whatever wuality you want. If you want to convert it so that it works best with iPod, download this spftware, and you can convert it to whatever you want. I recoomend Customized MP4 format

Then put the video onto your desktop, and open iTunes, and go to videos. Shrink the window so that you can see the file, and drag it in. It should automatically go into a playlist or just show up by itself.

@desiree333 okay so you have google (like me!) as your browser. once you have downloaded it it comes up in a new tab that says ‘downloads’ (like in a list along with everything else youve ever downloaded in the past)
just click ‘show in folder’
it is kind of small, pale grey underlined writing, like a link, once you click that it will show you the file in a new separate window.
and if you have your itunes open, click and drag the file into itunes. (keep itunes minimised and then drag the file onto the minimised bar and the itunes window should maximise and you can then drag it into the right bit.)

ARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHH!

Google is not a browser! It is a search engine. Your browser is what you open to get to google!

Sorry, but that really bugs me

@XOIIO GOOGLE CHROME IS A BROWSER. i think thats what she means.

XOIIO's avatar

Oh could be.

But them why not say Google Chrome? Meh, I’m a stickler

TheOnlyException's avatar

Haha same, I just assumed what she meant was Google Chrome is all :)

@XOIIO Oh jeez sorry! I guess my browser is Windows Explorer (but I have windows vista).

@TheOnlyException Thanks for your help, I’ve been having perfect success with zamzar. My only complaint is lots of videos won’t work because the file is too big or something. But whatever I can deal with it.

TheOnlyException's avatar

@desiree333 ooh glad its working out :) yeah for the big files (like a video that is 10 minutes +) it takes a few tries to get it uploaded.

desiree333's avatar

@some of the videos that don’t upload were only like 6–7 minutes! I guess I’ll keep trying.

TheOnlyException's avatar

@desiree333 if it is being used a lot at once by loads of people, uploading gets slow, try and use it at ‘off-peak’ times, like in the morning. just a suggestion :)
