Is there a program to scrape a list of songs off my iPod?

Asked by El_Cadejo (34610points) April 10th, 2010

I am an audiophile. I am also have a small hard drive on my comp and too poor to buy a bigger back up. Soooo once music is on my iPod i delete it.

I have had 1 iPod malfunction and need formating and I’ve also had one stolen before. Both times the thing that bothered me most was losing all my music. Not having to redownload it or anything, but when you have 80+ GB of music its hard to remember exactly wtf it was you had.

So is there a program that can scrape like a list of all the songs currently on my iPod. That way I can have it backed up without actually backing up all the songs?

You could make playlists on your itunes of what you’re currently listening to. Or make a folder on your computer of your current music. And delete anything you don’t listen to anymore.

But I think it’s best if you just go ahead and purchase a hard drive. It will help a lot in the long run.

iTunes can do that

@lawlipop what? no… i want like a word document listing every song on my iPod.

@jackm how?

Why do you want a word listing? I don’t think any program can do that. You could just take a bunch ofm screenshots as you scroll through your music on your iPod, unless it’s not a touch.

Just hook it up to iTunes, Transfer purchases, then copy all the songs to flash drive(s)

iTunes has an “Export Playlist” function. It exports a text file of all your songs and song data but doesn’t export the music.

Get a 500Gb Hard drive for $70 and swap your baby one out. You can get a 7200 rpm 1Tb drive for $99.

Sometimes I just try to help. That’s why I mentioned pricing, in case the OP wasn’t aware that prices had fallen a great deal.
