Why is Washington state always among the states with the highest gas prices ?
The list of states with the highest gas prices is always Alaska,Hawaii & Washington.
I understand AK & HI as they are both isolated and the gas has to be shipped in but why Washington ?

Washington is one of the seven states that doesn’t have a income tax. I would probably start looking there. Florida and Texas are two of the other ones. But those are on the gulf near refineries.
it probably takes alot to ship the gas to washington state. frankly, we pay what we have to. There is nothing to do to stop them. The KY general filed a lawsuit against gas companies here for fixing gas prices.
@johnpowell Delaware doesnt either. Their gas prices arent bad from my memory.
@susanc ours is 95 cents a litre so almost $4 a gallon and we grew it here in Alberta.
I don’t actually really understand AK since they have oil fields there…
I am surprised about WA, but @johnpowell might be on to something.
I was just thinkin about alaska, they dont get to keep their gas, it’s pumped out.

I found some info about it but I’m still confused

I copied & pasted part of it !
{ The high crude oil prices of recent months have made it even worse for gasoline prices in Alaska. Since gasoline from Puget Sound sets the price for Alaska, the higher shipping costs (tanker charges, to cover the oil burned by the tanker) have driven up the gasoline price in Alaska. }
If Alaska gets it fuel from Puget Sound ??? Then “WHY” are gas prices high in WA?
Perhaps proximity to refineries is a factor, along with taxes. I know gas can be cheaper in the next county over from us, because of a city tax on fuel.
2.73 in westland mi. but if you drive a mile down the street it might be 2.80. They make up prices as they go from day to day.
